DOCTORAL PROGRAMS AT WUD

World University of Design offers doctoral programme (Ph.D.) which is designed as per global standards. The University promotes innovation and excellence in educational research and development. The university provides ample opportunities to support and develop research inclination among students, subject supervisors and research scholars. Doctoral students at World University of Design are encouraged to pursue problem-oriented studies, and utilize advanced research methods to address real world problems. The research scholars are encouraged to work with international subject experts so as to understand the global scenarios of their research area.

Candidates who have completed:

A 1-year/2-semester master's degree programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme or a 2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed.

or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institution.

Provided that a candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed.

Relaxation as per UGC norms will be provided wherever applicable.

1. Admission to the Ph.D. Programmes will be made through a written test and Interview. A design background is not essential and applicants from other disciplines are welcome.
2. An applicant will be short listed for interview (step 2) on the basis of his/ her score in the written exam (step 1) conducted by the university.
3. Cumulatively the candidate must score a minimum of 55% weightage in the entrance examination (step 1+step2) to be eligible for admission in PhD programme.

Note: Students who have cleared any PhD entrance exam recognized by UGC, or National Level tests like UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET/GATE/CEED etc. or any other University’s PhD or equivalent entrance test will directly go to Step 2.

Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria, are required to fill the admission form with required documents of all particulars to be attached. All application forms will be screened by a separate screening committee whose representatives will be from Doctoral Research Committee and Experts from the University in the respective areas. The candidates short-listed on the basis of their academic record and relevant experience will appear in a written examination to be conducted by the University.

Phases of P.hd Programme at WUD

Interested candidates would send in an application along with required documents to the Chair of the PhD program at phd@wud.ac.in. The documentation required consists of –
1. Filled & scanned Application form (downloaded from www.wud.ac.in) with scanned copies of documents in support of eligibility.
2. A typed 500 word detailed statement of the proposed research project.
3. Copy of Curriculum vitae
4. A portfolio of creative works, if relevant

1. Admission in a particular discipline will be available subject to availability of seats with the advisor from the University or under the guidance of adjunct faculty after the approval of University.
2. Interviews (step 2) will be conducted in the afternoon of the same day as that of written exam (step 1)
